I finally got back round to reading Punisher Max. I have been put off reading the series because I wasn’t able to get volume 4 in HC. It was completely unexplained why it has gone out of print considering the other 4 surrounding it are available as well as a new collection coming out this year.
That aside I love the gritty atmosphere of the Max series. It seems to fit the punisher so well. Nobody gets in his way and those who do pay. At times he seems like Marvels answer to batman but in a far more violent uncaged way. A man with no powers or abilities with a troubled past going out to help those in need.
The Slavers focuses on a more prevalent modern topic than previous issues tackling the eastern european sex trade. The characters are far fetched as usual but the centre focus being how these girls are dealt with is unbelievably realistic in the sense of the way they would be treated in real life.
Not the best arc yet but it’s still worth a look.
